Luke is growing so fast! He had his 2 month check up today and here are the stats: he is 11 lbs 10 oz (which puts him in the 75th percentile for weight), and he is 23 1/2 inches long (95th percentile!!!). It's hard to believe that he is already 2 months old. He has been such a blessing in our home. Even lately when he has been sick he is SO smiley. When he is overtired is about the only time he cries (or if he thinks I am going to make him sleep). He loves his big brother already. He smiles for him and watches his every move when he is within sight. He is just a happy, healthy little boy and we thank God for that!

Nashville
We went to Nashville last weekend to meet Gary's sister, Sara, and her family. We had a really nice time. Gary asked me my favorite part of the trip, and without a doubt it was watching Trey interact with his cousins, especially Kyle (he's 5). Kyle just took Trey's hand and dragged him around everywhere, and Trey loved every minute of it! We couldn't go anywhere or do anything without Trey asking, "Joshua and Kyle coming too?" We went to the Gaylord Opryland hotel to look around, and while we were in the atrium Kyle looked up and said to Trey, "look at the clouds". Trey replied, "Oh, that's pretty nice." I looked at him and thought, how old are you? We went on the Delta riverboat ride inside the hotel because Trey just loves to get on anything that goes. I have to say that the ride was very lame and EXPENSIVE!!!! But, nonetheless, Trey loved it so it was worth every penny. We got off and he kept insisting that he drove the boat, so I just let him think that he did. Here are some pics from the trip. I will be posting again very soon with stats from Luke's 2 month doctors appt. I will try to get his video up for that post.

The joys of boys
Trey has finally learned to ride his bike all by himself!!! We have tried and tried to get him to pedal on his own since he got the bike almost a year ago. He simply didn't want to. He was content just pushing himself around with his feet on the ground until last weekend when I pulled my bike out and told him we could go for a bike ride together if he could pedal. That's all it took. In about 5 minutes he had it all figured out. I got the camera out so I could video it. Here is a clip. (by the way, if you are trying to figure out what he is saying, it's "puma" - which he got from Go, Diego, Go!)
And wouldn't you know it...right after I put the camera away, he decided to go downhill no handed! I asked him who taught him to do that and he replied, "nobody teach me how, mommy". I guess little boys just figure out ways to make things more dangerous all on their own.
Trey is growing up so fast. He has started trying to work his way into adult conversations. He will look at me and say, "what you talking 'bout, mommy?" That is also what he says when he is pretending he doesn't understand what I'm telling him...nice try.
Luke is a super smiley little boy. He has an internal alarm clock that makes him wake up every morning around 6. I don't mind because he is so happy when he wakes up (plus he goes to bed around 6:30pm). He is doing better, but when he gets overtired he fights sleep with every fiber of his being. I can already see the differences in my boys' personalities. Trey has always been a snuggler, but Luke wants to face outward and see the world. He is the happiest when he is laying (or is it lying?) on the living room floor watching everything happen around him. I have a video of him cooing and smiling, but I can't get it to load right now, so check back in the next post. Right now, he mostly eats, sleeps, poops, smiles and cries. I think Trey wants him to do more though. The other day, after watching a video of my friend's baby, Maya, roll over, Trey looked at Luke on the floor and said, "Baby Luke, roll over!". WAY too cute!!!!

Here are just a few pictures that my friend Jamie took. She did a wonderful job!!! She was the one responsible for the birth announcements you all received. I call her my "creative consultant". She put together a DVD for me of all the pictures she took set to music. She used the song "Heavenly Day" by Patty Griffin, and I have decided that it is my new favorite song. It describes perfectly how I feel everyday. My life may not be glamorous, and I may not have a lot to talk about, but it's more than I can ask for to get to spend my days with "my boys". The smiles on my kids faces and the afternoon phone call from Gary just to tell me he loves me make me feel like the luckiest wife/mommy that could be. God has blessed me in amazing ways, and if this is "all there is to life", well thank God!!!!
